Helping people find and follow Jesus

No one wants to show up to a party they weren’t invited to. I’d much rather stay home than find myself in that awkward (and potentially painful) situation—wondering if I’m actually welcome. Woof. No, thank you!

I’ve realized that’s exactly how many people feel about church. They wonder: Is this a place for me? When life feels overwhelming, when we sense there must be something more, or when we’re desperate for help and answers—can we really turn to the church? Is it for people like me, or only for those who meet certain qualifications?

Let me be as clear as possible: Yes! You are invited and wanted here! You don’t have to have it all figured out—none of us do. Church isn’t about celebrating people who have their lives together; it's about needy people finding their messy lives being put back together by a gracious and powerful God.

This is an invitation not just from those of us at FBC, but from Jesus himself. He said, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest..."

So whether you’ve been walking with Jesus for years and need a church home, or you’re not even sure he’s real, we hope you’ll take a step and join us on a Sunday. Who knows? You just might hear exactly what God wants to say to you.
